never done

Filed under: what's really going on — realjennykim @ 9:00 pm

i’ve been doing a lot of stuff lately.  two people called me “busy bee.”  ten people said the coffee is great.

today i went to tina’s birthday pool party at the clubhouse in marina del rey.  it was fun, she knows how to throw parties.  i finally ate a sandwich (proper)!  it was nice and hot out.  cold “mexican” beer.  refreshing though i was the only one at that party wearing jeans.  black jeans even.

me and the birthday girl:

it’s sunday night.  i think i may attempt to catch up on some work for work.  they don’t call me busy bee for nothing.

jose’s party

I just got back from Jozo’s little get-together.  i walked up to the porch full of partygoers but i did not recognize a single face.  i asked them if that was jozo’s party, and they said yeah to go right in, which is what i did and saw way more unrecognizable (but extremely friendly) faces.  also saw lots of delicious food.  i quickly figured out i was at the wrong party, everyone thought it was so funny.  they invited me to stay, even the cute cholas asked me if i wanted anything to eat.  i wanted some chile verde, but i knew i had to leave before the hilarity became awkwardness.

i made it to the correct party.  it was cool to see jozo.  i had social anxiety at the beginning of the night, but during the party karim and joe made me laugh so hard my eyes watered up.  it was a good feeling.  there was also lots of secondhand purple headband smoke in the air and i drank some pharmaceutical lemonade too!

i made new friends who are girls.  ignored the boys.

hello and happy saturday to all.  it is a hot day.  i’m drinking nondairy creamy iced coffee and eating a chilled banana.  i am supposed to be doing work for work, but i think i need to get some grocery/gift shopping done first.  soon i will head out into town.

last night my friends chris, brad, fabienne, and i went to the wine bar in downtown la.  drank some delicious primitivo and then it was off to the other bar for some more tasty beverages.  it was really nice strolling through downtown, the temperature was perfect for me.  i mixed wine, beer, and scotch.  i feel like a million bucks.  fabienne is from switzerland.  she had a neat accent and was really pretty.

i’m thinking i need to up my game.  big time.

i was so very tired today.  productivity was low.  i ditched out on overtime work and came home and took a nap.  it was recuperative.  i woke up and chilled with my friend chris at dale crover’s house (gratuitous name dropping).  we drank merlot and watched television.  it was very pleasant.

now i’m not sleepy, even though i was 30 minutes ago.  great.

i’m glad tomorrow (today) is friday.  friday nights are great and all, but my favorite is sleeping in on saturday.

un memento por favor

haha, tonight was a good one.  when you feel young, but mostly because you’re just old.

i got my car back today.  i confess to stalling THREE times getting out of the parking lot.  ugh.  that guy elton was shaking his head at me (he’s lucky he’s pretty).  the clutch felt very weird and short to me at first, but now it’s feeling like bundt cake.  it is fun to drive.

wednesday night dinner was okay.  i’m still the only one keeping it alive, but i know sooner or later they’ll come around.  maybe not, but i’m over it.

george the golden child (except he grew up and he’s just golden now i think) texted me about meeting up at al’s.  it sounded fantastic, he is awesome and a very old skate buddy.  i cruised out.  we drank and talked about various subjects.  he knows some secrets of mine now.  afterwards, we cracked a bottle of jim beam and skated flatground in the bank parking lot where george first developed his skate legs when he was a wee lad.  i hadn’t skated in forever, it was so fun.  we drank to his tre flips and my no-pop kickflips.  soon enough, the cops rolled in on us.  it was too late to hide the open bottle.  we played the nerdy asian card in true asian pokerface fashion.  yes officer no officer of course i’m not driving officer oh that bottle haha officer.  the copper was kind enough to not cite us for anything and told me to dump the entire contents of the bottle into the bushes.  “that cost you what, like twenty bucks” is what he said.  yeah.  i dumped it, and then sir golden and i were on our way back to our normal lives.  yes, that cop was just a kid too.  man, that was really fun.

i need to swap out those big 5 soft wheels for some normal wheels and then get back into rolling hard.  even las tunas boulevard looks and feels beautiful when you’re skating down it.

hi.  i am still without car.  a few steps after i left the house to walk down to the bus stop, someone pulled up next to me.  i thought, “great, what do they want.”  turned out to be my brother in his weird new car!  i laugh when i think about it.  not laughing at him or his car, just the situation.  he offered me a ride, so we had coffee first since i suddenly got handed some free time for not needing to sit on the bus.  it was neat.  he also picked me up after work.

not sure what’s up with the wrx.  the guy said master cylinder maybe.  he keeps making me feel guilty for not keeping up with maintenance and he also accused me of driving the car really hard because the flywheel was warped.  what was he expecting.

my favorite song right now is night letters.  it’s similar to metal.

your old friend

i dropped the wrx off at the shop this morning.  eric’s friend gave me a hard time for slacking on maintenance!  it was all in good fun and for my own good though.  unfortunately, my car is still in the shop.  it’s all right, my old friend will be taking me to work tomorrow…

so i’m still at my mom’s house.  it’s been pretty boring here.  no sign of my brother at all.

now i will figure out the bus schedule and hit the hay.

happy sunday.  i made it over to my mom’s house.  the wrx had a hard time getting on the freeway, like grandpa was driving but luckily nobody was behind me.  no smoke either.  my mom’s house is quiet.  i made some coffee and ate a bunch of her food already.  i might make a sandwich later because i haven’t eaten a sandwich in like two years and everyone keeps talking about sandwiches.  and also because that’s what people always help themselves to when they’re freeloading.   i’m supposed to be catching up on some work for work, but i want to take the crossword puzzle out to the backyard and lounge with my coffee instead.  and then, in a few hours, switch to beer.  light beer!

happy saturday.  having some coffee and banana and maybe some cheerios in a few sentences.  i slept well, had to wake up at 7am to walk charlotte, and then hopped back into bed.  i woke up hours later feeling refreshed.  i will do some household chores and continue to ignore the outside world until i’m ready to emerge from my shell.  it feels like hawaii out so probably won’t be long.

cheerio.

since the wrx has been really sketchy to drive i decided to lay off it until it’s ready to head to the shop.  i planned on just staying home tonight.  come five o’clock my phone was buzzing.  wonderful people offered to pick me up and take me to wonderful places but i kindly declined because well, i had plans on staying home.  i just felt like i needed to mellow out in my crabshell.  honestly, it was kind of boring.  but good too!
