haha, tonight was a good one. when you feel young, but mostly because you’re just old.
i got my car back today. i confess to stalling THREE times getting out of the parking lot. ugh. that guy elton was shaking his head at me (he’s lucky he’s pretty). the clutch felt very weird and short to me at first, but now it’s feeling like bundt cake. it is fun to drive.
wednesday night dinner was okay. i’m still the only one keeping it alive, but i know sooner or later they’ll come around. maybe not, but i’m over it.
george the golden child (except he grew up and he’s just golden now i think) texted me about meeting up at al’s. it sounded fantastic, he is awesome and a very old skate buddy. i cruised out. we drank and talked about various subjects. he knows some secrets of mine now. afterwards, we cracked a bottle of jim beam and skated flatground in the bank parking lot where george first developed his skate legs when he was a wee lad. i hadn’t skated in forever, it was so fun. we drank to his tre flips and my no-pop kickflips. soon enough, the cops rolled in on us. it was too late to hide the open bottle. we played the nerdy asian card in true asian pokerface fashion. yes officer no officer of course i’m not driving officer oh that bottle haha officer. the copper was kind enough to not cite us for anything and told me to dump the entire contents of the bottle into the bushes. “that cost you what, like twenty bucks” is what he said. yeah. i dumped it, and then sir golden and i were on our way back to our normal lives. yes, that cop was just a kid too. man, that was really fun.
i need to swap out those big 5 soft wheels for some normal wheels and then get back into rolling hard. even las tunas boulevard looks and feels beautiful when you’re skating down it.
