the new black

Filed under: what's really going on — realjennykim @ 4:03 am

today felt long.  this week has been feeling long.  i don’t mind so much.  along with having space, having more time is good also.

marco and i missed randy’s performance tonight because i was wishy-washy and made us late.  not enough time.  i think that is what happened.  we ate snacks in the winter warm room and watched dexter and talked about important nothings, my favorite kind of subjects.  they are exciting.

i’m cold now so i’m going to get under the covers and wake up a little bit later.

can you eat the bats

enjoying the new year.  ate the best ramen and chilled out.  lots of joiners at the restaurant, maybe made the long wait even longer.  go ahead and join in on calling them joiners. (them and their fixies)

the uncluttered lifestyle is the way to go.  living with enough space makes room for bigger things like patience and um, “godliness.”  those things don’t take up space but you ought to make space for them.  just something to consider.

i don’t know if it’s the ox talking, but i feel good.

another nice weekend.  more odd sleeping hours.

today i watched revolutionary road.  it wasn’t as good as i hoped, but i generally like movies that have scenes of married people yelling at each other.  i just like the realness of it.  classic one was in the godfather: part ii where kay says it wasn’t a miscarriage.  it was an abortion.  like their marriage!  *gasp!*

anyway, happy chinese new year.  the year of the ox rox.  haha!

been missing out

i had thursday night dinner with my family.  i initially declined the invitation because i was very tired and had stomach disease from wednesday night dinner, but then they (my mom and brother) said i should join them and that i could just relax and drink tea and stuff.  it sounded very nice, so i went and it was great.  they were nice to me because they knew i was tired.  i like my family.  when i was leaving my mom said thanks for coming.

i had a craving for cheese so i ate some mozzarella and then some cheddar!  stomach disease is on the hook.

marco and i went late-night grocery shopping at the ralphs where you always see someone you know (eg, the talented mike hanne and the charming adam f.).  we saw two people we knew, one lost in space and one red guy.  it was fun.  that ralphs has a better selection of foodstuffs than the local vons.  harumpf.

i have been having chest pain every day for months now.  i might go to the doctor because it feels as though it is worsening.  but i also think it just feels worse today because i’m gassy from the cheese.  i don’t know what’s really going on.

i’m looking forward to the weekend.  i want to rest.

i worked from home today.  it was cool but the company web-based email glitched on me, which was kind of a drag.  i think i might actually prefer working in the building than from home.  my office is warm (space heater) and the computer there works better.  i guess i just hate the getting ready for work and commuting part.  it’s like miso soup over and over.

i picked up a few wednesday night dinner items from the korean market today.  i ran into francis there.  he asked me what i was doing there as though it was weird for me to be there, but not him.  he didn’t even have a shopping cart.

wednesday night dinner was fun.  my mom told me that i know the value of family.

my mom is taking spanish class.  for personal enrichment.  she’s pretty good, which is weird.

case studies

i’m pretty tired and my stomach’s been acting pretty bad lately.  not bad meaning good, but bad meaning bad.  i think it’s because i dumped the align probiotic for a cheaper one.  classic case of you get what you pay for.

this morning i did pilates and then went to work.  during lunch i ran four miles on the treadmill.  after work i made dinner and did other household chores like the dishes and dumping out trash/clutter.  then i fell asleep during the simpsons.  then i did more pilates and drank green tea and watched masterpiece classics, which was part one of wuthering heights.  classic case of not as good as the book.  then i went to the pub and drank some wine and then to marco’s house.  i came home and walked charlotte and washed up and now i’m ready for bed.  what a day, just floating in the miso broth, right.  sad, right.  i like it though.  it’s so much worse in darfur.  some people want the universal buffet of knowledge, but i’m okay with just a little more flavor in the broth.  and look who’s spinning the spice rack.  ?.  classic case of i betta get some sleep.

fiesta sunrise

my holiday weekend was pretty chill.  i mostly decluttered, went to the pub, and relaxed.  today i drank a margarita at arco iris.

i was supposed to hang out with galvez but i missed him.  his myspace message said “later hater.”

my stomach is weird right now, but it’s not from the margarita, like, and you don’t need an education.

i ate lots of food at my mom’s house tonight, including honey-comb cereal.  staying away from gluten has actually helped a lot.  i’m glad, but also sad.

i am pretty tired, so i’m gonna go now.

i like your dog.

bangers and acid

Filed under: what's really going on — realjennykim @ 3:43 am

today was cool.  i got a haircut.  the korean stylist did not listen to my requests and gave me a cocohead anyway.  ugh.  the bangs are pretty all right though.  and bad haircuts are only dreams so who cares.

i decluttered some of my kitchen, except the items have not been taken to the dumpster yet.  let me know if you want an ice bucket (with no lid), some old dingy generic tupperware containers, a glass pitcher that leaks when you pour, or some woven placemats.  i have been cherishing these items for years.  ugh.

then marco and i went to the german tavern for beer and sausages, except i don’t really drink beer anymore so i drank red wine instead.  i had a merry time.  i took a few nibbles of bread but i’ve mostly been adhering to a loosely strict gluten-free diet lately.  also, it might be my imagination, but i think the calcium supplementation is improving the stomach acid situation.

i was so sleepy an hour ago but now i am not.

the asian diet pyramid

Filed under: what's really going on — realjennykim @ 3:48 am

after work i took a nap and then made rice krispies treats.  the deluxe ones (+coconut, peanuts, and chocolate chips).  i did not eat any of them.

then i went to marco’s house and helped him with household chores and decluttering.  i liked how he removed the pine cones from the lamp table as soon as i identified them as clutter.  he listened!

i am getting really good at decluttering. i threw out a piece of fitness equipment that i haven’t used in a long time.  soon i will clear out kitchen items and then i will truly “have arrived.”  ?.

i’ve been eating lots of rice lately.  my stomach and genes seem to like it.  i program the zojirushi so that the rice is finished steaming by the time i get home from work.  it is amazing.  i use 80% brown and 20% white.  if i ate rice and fish everyday my stomach would probably feel better.  but i really want to eat frozen burritos and drink kool-aid.

anyway, i ought to sleep now.

post a pic of your dog.
