Hi.  I’m at work right now.  But thought I had better throw up a quick post because my computer at home is out of juice.  And it’s important for me to say Happy Fourth of July Weekend or something.  The building closes at noon today so I’m excited to get out of here to start my long holiday weekend.

Today I’m taking Charlotte to the vet for a Bordetella vaccination.  Will she be kicking and screaming like a baby.  I also need to get her some food.  We ran out.  Am I a bad mom for feeding her spaghetti noodles mixed with ketchup…

Last night Jonny and I celebrated our anniversary.  We went out for oysters shooters, dinner, and cocktails.  I drank Grey Goose and Diet Coke because the restaurant ran out of vanilla Stoli. ?.  It was a nice time though.  And we aren’t afraid to eat raw oysters in late June.  Are you.  Later we had dessert champagne and cake.

Have a nice, fun, safe weekend.

Super diet day 18:  Well.  What can I say.  Cocktails, champagne, and marble cake.  It was a celebration and I enjoyed myself.  It’s fine.  Just gotta watch myself over the holiday.  I guess.  I don’t know.

I forgot to do my laundry again.  The plan was to come home, eat dinner, and do laundry as I googlized, but I got all confused because I went skateboarding after I ate dinner.  Ran into the crew at the park and considered having some drinks with my buddy Mike V. and other SAC dudes afterwards, but I remembered I had to come home and googlize.  Forgot about the laundry part though.  I didn’t really skate too much today.  It’s kind of hard when everyone is flying across the park and busting sick tails on the quarter and I’m just there all retarded with nonexistent bs stalls and railfear.  Ugh.  But I guess it’s okay, skateboarding is still fun even if you just bust no-pop flatground and cruise.

Super diet day 17: I guess pretty good.  I haven’t seen any results and the scale said I was 1.5 lb heavier, but this super diet takes weeks and weeks for the magic (biochemistry) to happen.  It’s fun being my own experiment.  Those 1.5 lb…we’ll just call it a scientific anomaly.  Miss Cosworth is probably reading this from heaven and thinking, “haha, you call that an experiment?”

I ditched kung fu and googlized a bit.  But I got punched in the left eye even though I wasn’t in class.  I was sitting on the couch and for some reason Charlotte decided to jump up on the couch at the exact spot where I was sitting.  Her nose landed squarely on my left eye socket.  I didn’t see it coming at all.  Ninja.  It felt kind of good at first but now it’s a little uncomfortable.

Super diet day 16:  ehhh.  I had lunch at my mom’s house, which means I ate too much delicious food.  Breaded zucchini and fish and spicy noodles.  My complete daily caloriesworth right there.  For dinner I had half a cup of cereal and two glasses of nonfat lactose-free milk.  No physical results yet.

I started putting some pictures up on http://rjkpix.blogspot.com/  I don’t know if I’ll keep it up, but for now it’s easy and convenient.

Wow, it’s been pretty hot out lately.  I like it.  It’s been muggy/humid so it kind of feels like Hawaii, only there’s no beach and everyone has a bad attitude.  I was talking to Jolene and the Ritz today and we all agreed that an earthquake is going to hit us any minute now.  dabigone.  The weather is just too funky and the San Andreas fault is stressin.  Nice knowing you.

I just relaxed today.  Watched Hell’s Kitchen and worked on my bi’s and tri’s.  Haha.

Super diet day 15:  Pretty good.  I ate dinner at home and then I went with Jonny to the taco place, but I didn’t get a taco or a Bud Light or anything.  That’s good right.  I still haven’t lost any weight though and I still don’t fit into my favorite pair of blue jeans.  We’ll just have to wait and see what happens I guess.

The weekend update. Jonny was hungover on Friday so I think we just chilled that night. Oh, we had cocktails and played Scrabble like Janet and Mr. Furley. He beat me. On Saturday we woke up early and hit up a yard sale. I got three cool paintings and a sweet ice bucket for $25. That night we went to Chris Clark’s brother’s birthday party. It was fun. The Nicoteens played and Skater Ralph and I practiced kung fu. Skater Ralph is a total kung fu master. Um, he could have killed me but he’s cool and just wanted to have fun and play. Thank goodness. Backyard punk rock parties are still fun to me.

Today Jonny and I went to a cholo car show in the hlp, it was pretty fun.

Saw the tightest Cheech and Chong mobile.

And then I went to a fundraiser event at Bergamot Station to raise money for child abuse. I worked at the Check It Out Magazine booth for a bit, but mostly drank vodka cocktails and socialized. A few of the pro skateboarder chicks were busting on some super lame ramps and I guess some old school Z shredders were supposed to be there but I didn’t see any slashing. Paris Hilton and Jalba were supposed to be there too, but nope, didn’t see them either. The event was quite good and a lot of fun though. I made new friends, including Ciroc Vodka, totally buff.

Super diet update: I did bad this weekend, okay? I copied Ritzel and decided to cut back on beer and drink more vodka. I had three beers total this weekend, which is nothing. Unfortunately I hogged out on hummus and Korean BBQ and drank a bunch of vodka cocktails. I guess I need to try a little bit harder.

I just got back from the farmers’ market.  I ate a delicious baked yam and chilled.  It was fun.  Being there makes me wish it was Friday already.  I had the opportunity to drink Chimay, wine, or Erdinger alfresco but I just said NO.  The Ianator didn’t show up today, but Samir did.  Samir just stands there and makes fun of people’s clothes.  I wonder what is wrong with him.

I have to leave for kung fu class soon.  I hope I can just battle today and not have to represent the dummy, knives, or the pole.  I just want to play and not train I guess.

Super diet day 11:  Certainly better than yesterday.  Ate less than 1000 calories.  Planning on burning 300 at the gym tonight.  I still feel hollow leggy, but I know why so it’s no big deal.  Tomorrow’s Friday, I’m faced with the weekend challenge yet again.

andy choi’s diaper

Filed under: what's really going on — realjennykim @ 10:50 pm

Andy Choi always asks me why I’m not wearing my elbow and kneepads at the skatepark.  I haven’t worn my pads in forever.  So is he clowning or what?  Today this happened:

ac: “hey, why aren’t you wearing your pads?”

rjk: “what? why aren’t you wearing your diaper?”

go skateboarding and fail day

Filed under: what's really going on — realjennykim @ 10:40 pm

So today was go skateboarding day.  we were supposed to ditch work or school and skate through the streets of dtla in giant packs, causing traffic jams, calling out the riot police to stop us from trespassing on corporate property, and acting out all those other punk rock pride-filled skateboarding fantasies.  did you do it?

I skated today but only because jonny texted me and informed me that joe zager (old school/og buddy) was going to be skating at the park.  I headed down there and nobody was there except stupid vibe boy who I hate, but soon the Ianator (#1!) showed up and then Joe and Mike V. came.  It was rad.  Hadn’t seen Joe in years.  Last time was at McMurphy’s back in the day.  Joe’s little kid was skating with us too.  It was cool.  Joe is the same (funny and nice and stony) but more responsible and in Hawaiian mode.  Reuniting with an old skate buddy is so much better than say, reuniting with an old friend who is a girl.

I failed to bust an axle stall, although today I got closer than ever.  Mike V. said I’m .001% away from busting.  That Mike V., he’s cool.

I’m waiting for Jonny right now.  We are going to go to the grocery store!

Super diet day 10:  Failure!  Haha.  :(   I “found” a box of granola cereal in my pantry.  Well, i usually just use the granola sparingly to top my yogurt because it’s so high in fat and calories, but today I just binged on bowls and bowls of it.  After a large dinner.  I don’t know why I’m such a cereal hog.  Also I ate Taco Bell today.  For some reason I got hollow leg syndrome and didn’t feel full no matter how much I ate.  This can’t go on.  Probably because today was go skateboarding day.  Tomorrow will be better.

Just got back from the Ritz’s birthday gathering at the icandy lounge.  It was fun!  The ritz is one of my best friends who knows about everything going on with me, but the funny thing is I only see her once a year.  On her birthday.  We talk (chat) everyday (all day) though.  It’s rad.  She looked really awesome this year and I had a good time tonight.  Everyone there was so nice.  I especially liked Will.  Haha.  We didn’t even share a conversation but I just liked his energy.  I can’t wait to tell Ritzel that I liked Will.  Also the ambiguously gay waiter was cute.  West Hollywood is interesting.

Super diet day 9:  Not too bad, but not wonderful.  I ate cereal again.  But I finished the box so that means there isn’t any more to eat.  Also ate 50% of a PBJ sandwich.  I ate a BBQ chicken salad at icandy and drank two Stoli Vanil Diet Cokes.  I guess it could have been worse.
